ABOUT CAMILLE

MULTI- HYPHENATE ARTIST

BIO

Camille Corbett is a Fulbright Scholar and a multi-hyphenate artist who lives for a good story and considers herself as much of a reader as she is a writer. Forever the Southern Belle, Camille was born and raised in Atlanta, GA . As a first-generation Jamaican American, Camille has always viewed herself as an outsider. It’s her mission as an artist to bring out the commonality in being different through compelling comedic storytelling and unconventional protagonists. When you read a script or watch a film that Camille has directed, it is clear that she is passionate about shaping strong female characters who are not afraid to get messy. Camille continues to be a proud member of the LA comedy scene through her improv (UCB, GROUNDLINGS, IMPRO STUDIO), stand-up (COMEDY STORE, HOLLYWOOD IMPROV, LAUGH FACTORY, ), sketch (BLACKVERSE), theatre (MATRIX THEATRE, VICTORY THEATRE), comedic musical performances, and acting. As a writer, Camille was previously staffed on a multi-cam sitcom for Netflix , as well as a French sex comedy adaptation produced by DreamCrew for Quibi. She recently wrote on an animated show for Disney+. Forever an advocate for women behaving badly, Camille currently has an original animated pilot BADDIES in development with Cartuna that is dedicated to that very notion. In addition to writing, Camille also produces her own passion projects. She raised a Kickstarter for a pilot (CRYSTAL & CHELSEA) that she produced,  wrote, and starred in that is currently being distributed by Fox Soul and was the recipient of the Panavision New Filmmaker  Grant. Camille is currently doing a festival run for THE ISLAND, a horror short  produced by Outback Presents, and also the recipient of another Panavision New Filmmaker grant, in which Camille directs and plays the villain.   When she’s not plotting how to become the next great American writer, Camille teaches comedy writing at UCLA extension.

Camille is currently repped by Angela Nikas at Buchwald.
